|Freescale receives the Better Business Bureau Torch award for marketplace excellence|
Award recognizes Freescale’s commitment to exceptional ethical standards
AUSTIN, Texas – April 6, 2009 – Freescale Semiconductor was recently awarded the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Torch Award for Marketplace Excellence in recognition of its superior commitment to exceptional ethical standards. The award was presented during the BBB’s International Torch Awards ceremony on March 31 in Washington D.C. Freescale is one of two companies to receive the honor in 2009.
The BBB is an unbiased, non-profit organization that sets and upholds high standards for fair and honest business behavior. The BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Excellence recognizes superior commitment to exceptional standards that benefit customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and surrounding communities.
“Freescale is known globally for its commitment to ethical standards,” said Steven J. Cole, president and chief executive officer of the Council of Better Business Bureaus. “After divesting from Motorola in 2004, the company defined seven core values, including what it calls ‘impeccable ethics,’ to guide every aspect of its operation. They have developed an incredible level of trust with their shareholders, customers, suppliers and employees, as well as the communities in which they operate.”
“Receiving this accolade is a testament to the hard work every Freescale employee has put forth to behave and operate in a manner that is respectable, ethical and morally sound,” said Larry Parsons, vice president of Freescale’s Office of Business Conduct and Ethics. “We appreciate the commitment from employees and the recognition from the Better Business Bureau.”
